Little puppy, they bring home big screams for you in the witching hour: sometimes it's three, and sometimes it's two. Will you learn the lesson that keeps coming true? What these hands mean? Sometimes they work you, sometimes they feed you, but I'll never hurt you. You're just getting what you need.
You are the one: first of all of my companions, no matter what punch you throw. You are the one true friend of all. No matter how you howl, you still come home.
Little puppy, I'm just reaching out for you. How could you tell, without the frame around everything? When you're outside you're cage, you're just getting what you need - and it kills you to be mean.
You are the one: first of all of my companions, no matter what punch you throw. You are the one true friend of all. No matter how you howl, you still come home.
Little puppy, I'm just looking out for you. You turn and run from all your joys; I know my calls just sound like noise. But you are the one.

There is a lot to hear here and unsurprisingly it's a mixed bag, but Passing Strange's stunning arrangement of "Tourniquet" blows me away. They make it sound like it was ALWAYS a piano ballad, and their contribution was to rock it up with lively drums. summer villain
Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
